Protein Mask
1 egg yolk (protein, tightening power)
Whip until pale yellow and thick. Apply and leave on for 10 minutes. Remove with coolish water and pat face dry.
Honey Mask
Your favorite honey (pulling power, moisturizer)
Just rub into skin and let remain for 20 minutes. Remove with warm water and follow with a splash of cold.
Milk Mask
1 pack dried skim milk (skin softener, Bleach)
Skim milk (same properties)
Blend enough liquid skim milk with the dried milk to form a spreadable paste. Apply to face and let remain for 20 minutes. Remove with tepid water and follow with a splash of cold.
Egg White Mask
1 egg white (tightening power)
Whip until very frothy. Apply to face and let remain five to fifteen minutes. After the first layer has dried, oily skins can take a second and third layer. Remove with cool water. Leftover mask can be held in refrigerator, rewhipped, and reused.
Honey and Almond Scrub
3 to 4 tbsp pulverized almonds (protein, skin softener, abrasive action)
2 tbsp honey (pulling power, moisturizer)
Pulverize almonds in blender or mash fine. Add honey to make a thick paste. Spread on face and let remain for 20 minutes. Remove with warm water and splash with cold. When removing mask, use a 'washing' motion to benefit from the abrasiveness of the almonds.
Buttermilk Pack
2 oz buttermilk (skin softener, bleach)
2 tbsp whole wheat flour or wheat germ (protein, vehicle for milk)
Blend milk and flour into thick paste and apply to face. Leave on for 20 minutes and remove with warm water followed with a splash of cold.
Fruit-Protein Mask
3 to 4 tbsp protein powder (protein)
Your choice of fresh strawberry, grapefruit, orange, or lemon juice (astringents)
Add enough juice to protein powder to make spreadable paste. Apply to face. Leave on for 20 minutes and remove with warm water followed with a splash of cold.
Mint Mask
2 tbsp dried mint (astringent, pulling power)
1 cup of water
1 pkg plain gelatin (protein)
Boil water and steep mint leaves for 15 minutes. Strain liquid, reheats, and dissolve gelatin in it. While still warm, apply to face with fingers or brush. (Oily skins can take second or third applications.) Let remain on face for 10 to 15 minutes and remove with warm water followed with a splash of cold. Leftover mask can be jelled in refrigerator. Simply scoop out enough for one application and heat until dissolved.
