Recipes for wave sets

Gelatin Set

1 tsp plain gelatin
1 cup boiling water

Mix well. When gelatin dissolves and mixture is cool, comb through hair and set as usual. )Gelatin is also protein, just as an added extra bonus)

Milk Set

1 tbsp powdered milk
1 cup water

Mix and comb sparingly through hair. Set as usual.

Beer Set

Comb beer (or dilute it with water for softer look) through hair and set as usual. Or pour beer over hair to wet it and then set as usual.

Wave Set for Normal Hair

5 oz water
1 tsp tragacanth

Soak tragacanth overnight in water. Strain through clean, white cloth. Put in bottle with spray top (well-scrubbed Windex bottle) and spray onto each section, combing it through as you set hair.

Wave Set for Dry Hair

6 oz water
2 tsp tragacanth
1 tbsp glycerin
1 tbsp plus 2 tsp alcohol
1/8 tsp borax

Mix tragacanth and alcohol in spray bottle. Add other ingredients and shake well. Spray wave set onto each section of hair before setting.
