Recipes for Hair Treatments


Hot Oil Treatment 1 (for dry or damaged hair)

2-3 oz warm olive oil

Shampoo hair. Towel dries lightly. Section hair and distribute oil near roots. Work through hair thoroughly paying special attention to ends. Wrap entire head with aluminum foil and cover with a shower cap. Sit under hair dryer or heat cap (without the shower cap) for 10 minutes. Shampoo hair again and follow with a rinse.




Hot Oil Treatment 2

2-3 oz warm almond oil

Shampoo hair. Towel dries lightly. Heat oil. Pour over hair a little at a time, working the oil well into hair and scalp. With hot curling iron, “curl” small portions) slipping iron the full length) slowly. Shampoo and follow with a rinse.



Hot Oil Treatment 3

2-3 oz corn oil
Shampoo hair. Towel dries lightly. Heat oil and distribute through hair working in well with fingertips. Wrap hot, steaming towel around head. When towel cools, dip in hot water, wring out, and repeat. Shampoo a second time and follow with a rinse.



Protein Treatment 1

2-3 whole eggs
1 tbsp lemon juice

Beat the eggs with the lemon juice until fluffy. Work well into wet, clean hair and leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse with barely warm water and follow with the rinse of your choice.




Protein Treatment 2

2-3 egg yolks
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Beat egg yolks until thick and pale yellow. Beat in vinegar. Work well into wet, clean hair, making sure all hair is covered. Let remain for 20 minutes. Rinse with tepid water followed with a second rinse of your choice.



Mayonnaise Protein Treatment

Mayonnaise (any good brand) or homemade mayonnaise


Work through wet, clean hair letting it remain for 20 minutes to 1/2 hour. Shampoo and follow with the rinse of your choice.




Homemade mayonnaise:

2 egg yolks
4 tbsp lemon juice
1 3/4 cups vegetable oil

Beat egg yolks and lemon juice together. Beating constantly, pour a thin stream of oil into the mixture until you have a thick, rich mayonnaise.



Honey Treatment

Honey of your choice

This moisturizes the scalp and slightly bleaches the hair. Work into wet, freshly shampooed hair and leave on for 25 minutes. Shampoo a second time and follow with the rinse of your choice.
